Many websites save on your computer, or more precisely on the clipboard of a particular browser (Firefox, Internet Explorer, Chrome and others) on your user account of the computer or phone on which you connect to the Web, the so-called “web”. cookies.

Usually cookies are very useful. They remember your individual settings and allow you to log in to your mail.

With them, website authors know how many users are looking at them and what specifically they are reading, and what they care about from afar.

Information collected using cookies may also be used to collect information about you for commercial purposes. E.g., if you often go to sites about books, you will see more bookstore ads.

Fortunately, if you feel that the presence of cookies violates your privacy, you can disable them at any time, either for a specific site or for all connections from your browser in general.

In the Mozilla Firefox browser

In the “Tools” menu, select “Options” and in it the “Privacy” tab.

Your browser gives you the option to mark that you do not want to be tracked at all, or to delete individual cookies of individual sites.

In Microsoft Internet Explorer

In the “Tools” menu, select “Internet Options” and in it the “Privacy” tab.

You can use a special slider to adjust the overall level of privacy, or use the “Websites” button to manage the settings of individual websites.

In the Google Chrome browser

In the menu hidden under the three horizontal dashes in the upper right corner of the browser, select “Tools” and then “Clear browsing data…”. In addition to the ability to clear cookies, there is a “More Information” link that leads to a detailed description of the browser’s privacy features.

In the Opera browser

Using the “Opera” button in the upper left corner, open the menu and in it select “Settings” and then “Clear browsing history…”.

In addition to the ability to delete cookies already set, there is also a “Manage cookies…” button. leading to more advanced options for individual sites.

In Apple’s Safari browser

In the “Safari” menu, select “Preferences” and in it the “Privacy” tab. You will find numerous options for cookies.

On cell phones, tablets and other mobile devices

Each phone model can handle this function differently. Therefore, we encourage you to read the privacy options in the documentation on your mobile device manufacturer’s website.
