The Jelenia Góra Branch of the Wroclaw University of Economics and Business, is an important educational center in Poland, with its roots in the deep historical heritage of the Lower Silesia region. Its history dates back to the 1950s. In the 1970s, when the consultancy point for extramural studies of the Higher School of Economics in Jelenia Góra was established. Since then, it has grown rapidly, becoming a significant university in the region.

2005 Establishment of the Department of Microeconomics
2006 The Faculty obtains the right to confer the degree of Doctor of Economics in the field of economic sciences in the discipline: economics / Field of study: economics and management.
2007 Launch of the first edition of part-time doctoral studies / Specialties: quality and environmental management, tourism and hotel management, logistics in the enterprise / Launch of the University of the Third Age in Boleslawiec
2012 Faculty of Economics, Management and Tourism in Jelenia Góra at the Wrocław University of Economics / Launch of the first edition of full-time doctoral studies
2013 The department won the competition of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education for the best educational programs. The department received 1 million in funding. / Launching the direction of tourism in first and second degree studies
2018 Distinctions were awarded to the Department: Honorary Gold Badge of Merit for the Lower Silesian Province and Honorary Title of Merit for the City of Jelenia Góra.
2019The Faculty of Economics, Management and Tourism in Jelenia Góra, by virtue of an Order of the Rector (in connection with the entry into force of the Act of July 20, 2018. – Law on Higher Education and Science) becomes a Branch of the University of Economics in Wroclaw.
